hello

Well this card came about in bits and bobs...I had left over DI for colouring an image which wasn't working for that stamp but I didn't want to waste the ink so I sponged it onto a base card. The colour combo is from Color Throwdown which is really pretty and I love the photo they used for inspiration as we went to Venice a few years ago and absolutely loved it! But I digress...I then decided to use a new Tim Holtz stencil I picked up this week and....after that I didn't know what to do with it....lol
Anyway, I saw the latest sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches and thought I might be able to use it for that but I struggled with it for a while and I'm not sure I'm completely happy with it even now but it came together in the end. I hope your weekend is off to a great start....thanks for popping in and until next time, happy stamping.

Anchors Away...

I bought an anchor die this week and was keen to use it so I have used the latest CAS(E) this Sketch layout for inspiration and over at Seize the Birthday they want String or Twine....a nice and simple card.

Well I've had my first go at watercolouring with no outlines...Heather over at Make it Monday has a tutorial video to show you how to do it,make sure you check it out, it's awesome. Now, I don't really 'do painting or the likes' but I am really enjoying using my DI's to paint and colour. I also don't really have any large flower stamps to colour like Heather has used so I had a go with these tulips and I got into the swing of painting them so much so I was painting my own tulips and extra grass and stems in. I have also used a new die I picked up on work trip this week...can't get enough of these text dies. Make sure you pop on over to Curtain Call too where they are celebrating their 1st Anniversary with 'Anything Goes'. Well I'm off to see if I can find another stamp suitable to do this technique again. Thanks for stopping by...

Live Laugh Love

Well sadly my craft time for this weekend is coming to an end...and I am finishing it off with a very different card to what I would usually make. I have really stepped outside the square here and taken up the challenge from Feeling Sketchy and The Card Concept. I think my card falls into the 'freestyle collage'...if not 'clean layering' hehe. Make sure  you pop on over and check the challenges out, I hope you have a great weekend with lots of stamping in it...until next time, happy stamping.

Card Sketch 94

Hello Friend...

Another card for my Stamping Saturday and this time I have been adventurous....I have been really liking the cards of late that have had some texture paste/gel added to their background so after much deliberating I took the plunge and bought me some....who know's if it is the right stuff but it worked for me!! I also picked up a new Kaisercraft Template-Tree around the same time with this technique in mind. So for Sketchbook Saturdays current challenge and for my first time playing at The Mixed Media Card Challenge I pulled them out to give them a whirl. I just used part of the tree in the corner of my card then coloured my card with Distress Inks (probably should have done this before I applied the gel...we live and learn), I also coloured the gel a bit too after it had dried and this is the end result! Very happy....I'm also adding my card to the latest challenge over at Virginia's View where the challenge is Die Cuts....thanks for stopping by...

    Welcome to Virginia's View

Merry Christmas...

Another Christmas card to add to my growing collection....I've used the latest layout from CAS(E) this Sketch and the colour combo from Colour Me...!  A very nice CAS Christmas card....my favourite type.

Purple Monochrome

My last card for the day and a very productive day it has been. It has been ages since I have used my embossing powders and this is the second time in two weeks. I really like the effect of white embossed images with the background coloured with DI's has and it was great to use this stamp. It's one of those stamps that you struggle with...I have had several goes with using this stamp and have always given up on it but this time is not too bad...The softness of the DI against the white looks quite nice. I've chosen purple today because Colour Me! want a monochrome card using purple....pop on over and check it out. Well, that's it for me this weekend, I hope you have a good one and until next time, happy stamping.

Merry Christmas Stamp

and my third Christmas Card for the day...woohoo. I've never done this before, making Christmas cards all year long but it's a good feeling because I know there won't be the usual rush in November. For this card I have used the latest sketch from The Paper Craft Crew and have let my DP influence how my card turned out. Make sure you pop on over and play along...this is their 100th sketch and theirs blog candy to win. Thanks for stopping by..

Another Christmas card for my stash...for this card I have taken up the challenge from the CAS(E) this Sketch team....love your sketches!! Make sure you pop on over and check it out.

Christmas Fairy

I started this card on Monday and have only now been able to get it finished. I don't really do 'fairies' but over at Christmas at Sweet Stampin' they wanted a fairy so I thought I would step outside my comfort zone and make a card using one. I'm very happy with the end result...I think it has turned out quite nicely and I was even adventurest and added spots and stripes to the presents as they were just plain...that's not something I would normally do hehe...Make sure you pop on over and check out the other great cards and as always, thanks for stopping by.

Our Beautiful World....turns ONE!!

Wow!! Our Beautiful World has turned ONE! Congratulations ladies...it's a great blog and I love to play along. To celebrate their birthday the team are asking you to post a baby photo of you when you were around 1....
I'm not sure how old I am in this photo but it is one of my favourites. That's me with my Dad who also looks very young and an aussie icon, a koala.

When I was young my parents travelled around a bit going to where there was work for my father which is why I'm not sure exactly where these first two photo's were taken but I know they weren't in our home town.

Lucky for me I have several baby photos because my Dad was a bit of a camera buff....but then some photo's are better than others, like this one where I seemed to be dressed up like a flower..heheh

And last but not least...a studio shot and another of my favourites. Thanks for taking a peek at my baby photo's and make sure you pop on over and join in the blog hop to celebrate OBW's 1st birthday.
